Hanna, in the hope that the tradition will continue, has started hanging small, black paper cranes from the tree with fishing line and decorative beads amongst the trinkets. Each crane has a name written on it, meant for those who left the Barge before they intended to, though there is no rules anywhere that says that other names can't be added.

He takes requests, he encourages others to join him, and tries to keep the tree updated when someone leaves unexpectedly if no one has beaten him to adding their name to the tree.
