Character Name: Reno Work Area: Kitchen, dinner Job Position: Supervisor Supervisor Style: Highly communicative and attentive. He'll be happy to learn the ropes from staff that's been here longer. Once he's used to the flow of things, he'll step up quickly to the plate. Reno will match the vibe of whomever he's dealing with, and has no issue referring to someone with more experience in an area, despite their titles or ranks.
He'll prefer to have the week's menu already made and will usually hold brief meetings weekly on what's expected of the kitchen for the week to come so that each night, the team will know what's expected and what needs to be done. He'll give them free reign and space to manage their own stations to prep and clean and cook as they like, and will often jump in and out of various stations as needed between his own duties. If someone requests help or needs more direct management, he's able to step in and set them up, but he will be doing so with the intent of teaching them to be more independent. He will keep a white board available in the kitchen for notes and information, and a little magnet to pin recipes or meal suggestions for next week to the board.
While Reno is quite lax and loves to engage in horseplay with the team, he will still maintain accountability with his staff, and while he will see to it his staff is safe, if a shift is missed without advance notice or a good reason, they can expect to do everyone's prep and cleaning for the next few nights. He'll be lenient with breaches and floods as they are unpredictable, but otherwise he asks for communication and accountability of those he works with. If given a heads-up about missing a shift, they can resume their usual duties on return with no problems. If it becomes habitual, he will investigate.
He'll subject himself to the same punishment if he fails to notify his team of his absence as well, and will in fact have fun making a show of letting staff absolutely give him shit. Reno believes that being a leader means never asking of someone what we wouldn't do, himself, and he always puts his money where his mouth is on that front.
Reno has a sweet tooth, and will keep up with having desserts available. He will usually try to sweet talk the team into agreeing to junk food options every few weekends(think pizzas or fast-food knock-offs), but otherwise prefers healthy options. He tends to add a nutrient-dense option most nights since he's used to accounting for SOLDIER's caloric needs.
