TLV - Temporary Pairings and Opt Out
Beginning April 30, 2014, the Admiral is instating a new protocol for the passengers of the Barge called temporary pairings. They will be announced at the second pairing of each month and will be made at random, at the discretion of the moderating team. Temporary pairings will change every month and there will be as many as there are unassigned wardens or inmates, whichever option runs out first.
This post is for explaining the rules, below, and also to opt out of having your unpaired warden or inmate temporarily paired. Opting out will not affect permanent pairings as outlined here, and may be added or rescinded at any time, for any reason, at the player’s discretion.
- Temporary pairings will be announced on the 15th of each month along with the permanent pairings. Each pairing will last until the next temporary pairing announcement.
- Permanently assigned inmates and wardens are not eligible to be temporarily paired with a second warden or inmate.
- Temporary pairings DO NOT include the exchange of an inmate file. The inmate will, however, register on the temporary warden’s item for the duration.
- Inmates and wardens assigned in temporary pairings will still be available for permanent pairing at any time at the discretion of the player of the character in question. Both players in the temporary pairing do not have to agree for one character to be switched to a permanent pairing.
- If both players wish to make a temporary pairing permanent, they will need to follow the same rules as any other permanent pairing for making it official.
- For the duration of temporary pairings, the warden in question will be responsible for the inmate in question, and the inmate answerable to the warden. No punishment will be enacted for failure to interact, but the moderator team encourages players to use this opportunity to build CR and practice for permanent pairings! Characters will, as ever, be answerable to IC consequences and their peers for failure to abide by the pairings.
Please address any questions, concerns, or comments to your moderator team via the normal contact methods. To opt out of being eligible for temporary pairings, or to request not to be temporarily paired with specific characters, please fill out the form below. Comments are screened.
