All Admiral requests (with the exception of Inmate resurrections) must go through this post, and their approval cannot be handwaved. Additionally, requests will only be granted to Wardens.

Though the Barge does not speak in any traditional way and is not reachable by communicator, it is sentient, and characters occasionally reach out to it via tapping on walls in Morse Code, spelling out messages in alphabet-letter fridge magnets, and other creative methods; if your character decides to try this, those messages may be dropped here as well!

Hi адмирал... I have a maybe dumb question about, er, my deal. Or deals in general, I guess.

What happens when my deal is to change something in my own past? Is that gonna, I dunno, erase me...? Or make me forget everything that happened after the change, and get new memories of whatever would've happened with the change? Or will it branch off into some new timeline and I'll still be the same?

It depends on the change, and on what you want from it. Some people have both sets of memories.

How would you want it to work?

I don't know. I just need to make sure changing the choices that brought me here wouldn't make it so I would never come here. I can't do that to Steve, you know?

[Or himself. But Steve's the big one, here.]

Ah. No, it would certainly not do that. If you've earned a deal, I'll need you to have been here, won't I?

And in any case, I don't care for that sort of paradox, and it's not necessary. The changes are to your own world, and your time on the barge is not part of that world, so it isn't affected.

[Simple as that! If you could call it simple.]

Sometimes the joint between those different parts of your life can be...less than seamless. But there's no need to lose anything you don't wish lost.

[It makes sense, given the whole split timelines thing, and the Admiral's desire to take care of and hold onto people who need taken care of.]

Would you do it? Change your own past, even though it will affect... a whole lot of people who aren't you?

I do a lot of things that affect people who aren't me.

My own past is...riskier.

Why's that? Because you do a lot of things that affect people who aren't you?
