TLV - Admiral Requests

ADMIRAL REQUESTS

New Admiral Request Page Found Here

Post your requests to the Admiral below (and also a note if you would specifically like that request to be rejected), and we will get to them in a timely manner. All Admiral requests (with the exception of Inmate resurrections) must go through this post, and their approval cannot be handwaved. Additionally, requests will only be granted to Wardens.

Unless otherwise specifically noted, all threads on this post are considered to be Private.

Though the Barge does not speak in any traditional way and is not reachable by communicator, it is sentient, and characters occasionally reach out to it via tapping on walls in Morse Code, spelling out messages in alphabet-letter fridge magnets, and other creative methods; if your character decides to try this, those messages may be dropped here as well!

[ The voice on the message sounds about as strung out, grumpy, and tired as one might be when one is a distinctly introverted person with a mild nicotine habit who has had to speak to people all day, angry people, and has not gone out and had a cigarette.]

I said that I would, so I am, but I think we both know this is a bloody joke. [ An indrawn breath. ] All the same, here it is:

I would like to request that all of the books that were brought here from my world be removed from the ship. Specifically and especially the ones that like to kill people.

[ ...he's not sure if the Admiral feels it is his job because the books are from his world or if it's his job because he took the position in the Library. Either way, the whole thing has the feeling of something set up from the start and honestly, he could do with quite a bit less of that sort of thing.]

Understood. And please be aware I will be quoting you on that.

So glad for this unilateral decision that you did not in any way warn me about.

[ He clears his throat. ]

With that said, given that I will be managing more than just an inmate, I would like to either amend or clarify one small matter on my 'deal', as it were:

I would like to restore all those who would fall under the realm of archival assistants. Sasha still, of course. But also... [ there's a bit of emotion here, because he's going to be taking the book back to his rooms soon to burn it but-] Gerard Keay and Michael Shelley. They... they deserve that.

[ That is a bit of a wry chuckle. Mostly because bargaining with beings that hold his life in their hands is sort of his life at this point.]

I will have to live with it. [ A sigh.] But I would also have to live with myself were I not to ask. And, from my point of view, I can hardly see how such an extension would tax a being like yourself who can restore whole worlds.
epistemological: (Well all right then so be it)

Believe me, I am well aware.

[ A deep, fortifying breath in.]

Well, consider the amendment requested. And as for my... duties, I would like to know one thing. Something of practical concern regarding the handling of the books: will destroyed volumes eventually regenerate within the library?
epistemological: (What am I watching?)

Thank Christ.

[ He takes a moment or two to breathe before he finally says.]

Thank you.

Yes, probably for the best. Good- good evening, A--

[ And he'd almost gotten there, except, well...]

You're not a cat, are you?
epistemological: (do you hear what you're saying?)

...it was worth it just for that, frankly.

Goodnight, Admiral.
