Though the Barge does not speak in any traditional way and is not reachable by communicator, it is sentient, and characters occasionally reach out to it via tapping on walls in Morse Code, spelling out messages in alphabet-letter fridge magnets, and other creative methods; if your character decides to try this, those messages may be dropped here as well!

This doesn't mean he doesn't have questions though, and late one night he sits in the eighth floor common room, he tries to get some answers. Using one of the tvs as a connection point, he hooks up his homebrewed karaoke machine to the screen, tapping the mic to test and speaking into it.
His words don't come out of any speakers but push back through, as if to speak them directly to the ship he's to connect to. He hopes he can hear her the same way, or perhaps across the television he'd hooked up to.]
Hello, Barge! My name is Christopher and I wanted to thank you for being a sanctuary. You're very good at it.
But, I had some questions for you...do you think you can answer them for me?

Ask me to make a mountain small, ask me to make a valley tall. Ask me anything at all....

He spins and walks with the mic, gesturing dramatically with it as he goes. Oh, shes put him in such a good mood.]
Someone told me you make yourself look this way, shape reality. Is that true?
Who do you base this reality on? Where does it come from?
Can you show me all the forms you could take? I'd love to see it!

What ya see is what you get, what ya see is what ya get now baby!

Because you don't want to show me, or because you cant?
[He walks closer to the tv, eyes sparking blue, putting his hands on the screen and feeling the static build as he runs his fingers across it with a tingling sensation building between his fingers and the screen.]
I cant appreciate everything you are if I can't see all of you.

--keep it a mystery, a mystery for me.
Keep it a mystery, a mystery for me--
[A glitch, and the chorus repeats a few more times. What does it mean? Well-- maybe that's up to the ear of the beholder.]

His next words are a whisper.]
I want to keep your secrets, please?
You've already done so much for me, let me do this for you.

The next line isn't actually a song, it's an old cartoon clip: Popeye the Sailor jitters across screen at a low framerate, declaring:]
I yam what I yam!
[--and, whoops, there goes the screen altogether. TV off, lights out, although after the brief moment of darkness they do flicker back on. The TV doesn't say anything further, though.
No peeping, Christopher, she doesn't know you nearly well enough yet.]

He taps a little message to her, if she's still listening in Morse, no monsters left behind before he eventually packs up his things and goes back to his room.
He can try again later. He is nothing if not persistent.]
