POTENTIAL APPLICATION DISCUSSION

Thinking about applying for a character, but not quite sure if they're a good fit? This post is dedicated to discussion of that very thing! A jury of your peers will help you in deciding whether or not a character you suddenly have a hankering for would be a fit for the Barge!

THIS IS NOT COMPULSORY. Nobody HAS to participate, and nobody HAS to post here before they post an application! This is just for people who are unsure and would like to have a discussion before they apply.

Please take the following into consideration when posting or replying here:

1. Mods are the final decision makers. Even if you get great feedback, player approval does not substitute mod approval. Even if a mod replies to your comment here telling you that they'd love to see the character and to go ahead and app, they're not making a promise to auto-approve your app once it's submitted.
2. This post is for constructive discussion. Even if your gut reaction is a simple "OMG YES" or "HELL NO", providing details and reasons for that reaction will always be more helpful to the player. In addition, please remain polite and civil at all times. Even if you take issue with a prospective character or the direction the player wants to take them in, flaming, insults, etc. will not be tolerated.
3. Avoid too much pre-plotting. Remember that this is all still theoretical, and the characters posted here haven't been apped or accepted into the game yet.
4. Don't take this personally. If people have concerns about the suitability of your character, or are unsure about some aspect of your comment (ex. the warden/inmate justification), it's not an attack on you or your RPing.

Put the character's name as the subject line (ONE CHARACTER PER COMMENT), and be sure to fill out the following form. Please do try to hit on all the points asked about here - this is all stuff we'd like you to keep in mind before you apply, and going into at least some level of detail will help spark meaningful discussion.

Honestly, this description makes me want to see it a lot more than I did before.

It's a highly enjoyable show, because the actor who plays Monroe is a very good actor, and they give him excellent lines, and the actor who plays Nick is one of the prettiest men I've ever seen, but you can't really think about it very hard. I think they were originally going for a thing where the fairytale creatureness represents the bad urges people have, and with some people they're closer to the surface, and those people are creatures, and their badness is visible. But then that gets a little weird, because being a creature is genetic, and as a result they are unintentionally making some uncomfortable claims about nature vs. nurture, and the amount of the population they've represented as being creatures who all know each other are creatures (and only seem to marry other creatures of the same species) and are living among us is already unbelievable.

But man is Nick hot.

Nick is generally useless but very very pretty, Monroe is the one with an actual personality.

The writers didn't quite think that through, apparently.
