CHARACTER APPLICATIONSApplication periods are open all month, every month.
The Final Fantasy VII Compilation cast is at cap, and FFVII Compilation apps are currently closed. Please read all rules and guidelines before submitting an application. Be sure to check the
Taken Characters list and the
Retired Characters list before posting an application here.
NOTES:- After applying for a character, we ask that players allow 30 days before bringing their next character into the game. In some cases (warden or cast caps, upcoming major game events) players may approach the mod team and clear submitting an application a few days early, though it will not be approved before the 30 day mark.
- If you are applying into an existing cast, please be aware that we may speak to players of characters close to (any version of) the character, and will speak to the players of canonmates of the character for which you are applying. We reserve the right to reject an application if it would render a current character or characters unplayable in the opinion of their player(s). If your app is rejected for this reason, we ask that you respect the decision.
- Both samples may be taken from threads on the Test Drive Meme, as long as they are recent and match your application with respect to canonpoint and warden/inmate status. The TDM goes up once per month and is always marked on the Event Calendar. If you would prefer to write yours out and would like some inspiration, check out the Flood Event tag on the OOC community; you're welcome to write a sample based on your character's reaction after one of these events! Here are a few popular choices.
- Canons (or canonpoints, in the case of ongoing series) must have been out for at least 30 days before they can be applied for.
- If you're reapping a character that you previously dropped and you plan to have them retain their memories of their previous stint onboard, please include at least a few sentences discussing how their previous stay affected them, and noting any relevant changes to their personality, worldview, and motivations. The more significant the changes, the more detail we'd like.

ACCEPTED with Note
Welcome to Last Voyages! Now that you've been accepted, please use your character journal to do the following within 72 hours of acceptance:
Special Note: In regards to Disney and canon, it's our understanding that most of the old star wars Expanded Universe, including games, comics, and novels, has been categorized as "Legends", and the films, the clone wars series, the rebels series, and the comics published after April 2014 are canon to the main/film continuity. Obviously Maul is in the film continuity as well as additional material, and from the perspective of TLV, either universe is a perfectly acceptable canon to app from! It's also fine to officially app Maul from one of those continuities and take addition inspiration/fill in gaps from the other, as long as it doesn't contradict anything in the primary canon of origin. (Comics players and the like do this all the time.) However, we would appreciate it if you could give us a quick outline of which pieces of media you are drawing each part of his life from, as it's hard to parse from the wiki link. Bullet points would be totally fine, we just want a rough idea for reference, nothing exhaustive.

Also, appreciate the clarification. With the purchase of Disney I couldn't tell whether Legends was still separate or not. Most if not all canon I draw from are movies/animated/SOD anyways, so that's fine :)
I hope I am understanding this question right, but I believe you want me to explain what parts of Legends I am interested in keeping as opposed to the main canon of Movies/Animated/Son of Dathomir?
The only Legends portion I enjoyed and wanted to keep was his experience on Orsis in the Academy. I thought having had some positive interaction, regardless how brief, during his youth was a nice thing to add and doesn't necessarily conflict with anything else. I can drop this without issue, though. If desired.

That seems like it's not covered or contradicted by anything in the Official Disney verse, so his Academy experience is totally fine to keep! (Basically, you have to have SOME headcanon for what happened then - if your headcanon is that it Goes As In Legends, that's fine!)
Basically, we'd like to know which really major arcs/chunks of his life were from TCW, Rebels, and SoD respectively. Like "His childhood was in flashbacks in this, the bit with his brother was in this, his death was in this." Just so we have a picture of how they fit together.
....OOPS double reply sorry. BUT YES ACADEMY IS FINE.

Most if not all childhood / youth experiences are only really laid out and detailed in SOD (main canon, that is). I don't recall TCW or Rebels getting too into any of that in much detail. The vast majority of his life after Sidius I pull from TCW. His cameo in Solo coincides with this as well.
His old man life + death comes from Rebels. Specifically, his pull point is Rebels Season 3, Ep 20. Where I cry like a baby over some bonkers horned alien. Good stuff.
Does that all make sense? :)
