TLV - Character Applications

CHARACTER APPLICATIONS

Application periods are open all month, every month.

The Final Fantasy VII Compilation cast is at cap, and FFVII Compilation apps are currently closed.

Please read all rules and guidelines before submitting an application. Be sure to check the Taken Characters list and the Retired Characters list before posting an application here.

NOTES:
  1. After applying for a character, we ask that players allow 30 days before bringing their next character into the game. In some cases (warden or cast caps, upcoming major game events) players may approach the mod team and clear submitting an application a few days early, though it will not be approved before the 30 day mark.

  2. If you are applying into an existing cast, please be aware that we may speak to players of characters close to (any version of) the character, and will speak to the players of canonmates of the character for which you are applying. We reserve the right to reject an application if it would render a current character or characters unplayable in the opinion of their player(s). If your app is rejected for this reason, we ask that you respect the decision.

  3. Both samples may be taken from threads on the Test Drive Meme, as long as they are recent and match your application with respect to canonpoint and warden/inmate status. The TDM goes up once per month and is always marked on the Event Calendar. If you would prefer to write yours out and would like some inspiration, check out the Flood Event tag on the OOC community; you're welcome to write a sample based on your character's reaction after one of these events! Here are a few popular choices.

  4. Canons (or canonpoints, in the case of ongoing series) must have been out for at least 30 days before they can be applied for.

  5. If you're reapping a character that you previously dropped and you plan to have them retain their memories of their previous stint onboard, please include at least a few sentences discussing how their previous stay affected them, and noting any relevant changes to their personality, worldview, and motivations. The more significant the changes, the more detail we'd like.

Hi there! Here are my revisions.

Angel's 100% confirmed powers are :

a) Phaseshifting. This is basically technopathy, the ability to intuitively manipulate technology and have said technology obey the phaseshifter's commands and desires. Angel is able to control and access anything with Hyperion (Jack's company) branding, anything modified with an adapter or uplink, or any unguarded technology. Because she's plugged directly into the planet's network she can control things from a great distance such as opening doors and chests, hacking computers or changing the environmental controls to a building. The extent with which she can fuss with code is implied to be vast and only limited due to her circumstances. Jack designed technology not only to house Angel but to effectively turn her into a living supercomputer. She's been directly plugged into the planets network via implants in her brain and has complete access to the Echonet as well as the ability to interface with technology from a distance so long as it's programmed to be compatible with her.

That said, Jack forces Angel to use her powers to charge the super-weapon, while simultaneously making her wear a collar that dampens her powers and makes her easier to control, so she is double drained at all times. In theory, she's more powerful than we've seen. The Barge could obviously do similar to her to a more drastic degree.

b) Flight, but only at full power, with Eridium as a requirement. She uses her power to make wings made of iridescent light.

Her implied power is some form of telepathy. Multiple Sirens have this ability, including the woman who ends up inheriting Angel's powers. Angel never gets to use this power in-game for us to see. but examples of this include Lilith, a fellow Siren, communing with the vault Hunters in Borderlands 2 and 3, and Tannis, Angel's successor doing it as well in 3.

Anything beyond this is purely speculative, so it might be easier to just nullify it entirely since the canon is inconsistent.

I'd like Angel to be nerfed, especially when it comes to the less concrete and OP stuff. Her relationship with technology is what interests me most, and what is easiest to define as well as her telepathy since it isn't something she got to use directly in canon. I headcanon that Angel finds a lot of comfort in listening to the code she's constantly absorbing and would seek out opportunities to flex this power since it's such an integral part to her being. That Angel might do things like shut off the TV with her mind instead of using the remote is pretty funny to me and fits her well.
I'd be fine with something like her wings/flight never returning since they aren't particularly meaningful.

I like the idea of her Eridium dependence re-emerging over time rather than something that she arrives with. In that same vein of thought, all Sirens have a series of markings down one half of their body that signifies what they are (and glow when their powers are in use) maybe she could arrive without the marks and they'd develop as her powers return too?

Thanks for your time!
