Post your requests to the Admiral below (and also a note if you would specifically like that request to be rejected), and we will get to them in a timely manner. All Admiral requests (with the exception of Inmate resurrections) must go through this post, and their approval cannot be handwaved. Additionally, requests will only be granted to Wardens.

Unless otherwise specifically noted, all threads on this post are considered to be Private.

Though the Barge does not speak in any traditional way and is not reachable by communicator, it is sentient, and characters occasionally reach out to it via tapping on walls in Morse Code, spelling out messages in alphabet-letter fridge magnets, and other creative methods; if your character decides to try this, those messages may be dropped here as well!

For the purposes of maintenance, how old is this ship? And is there a set standard calendar, preferably with a year, that you use?

She was commissioned six years ago. As for the calendar, for my passengers' convenience I use the one that the majority of them are familiar with. Earth, Gregorian, dating from the late 20th century.

The year on that calendar doesn't matter much to us, of course.

I'll return them if a permanent warden asks me to do so. As for exceptions... well, we've encountered a few areas of space that had an effect on our onboard systems.

[ Using the time allotted, Vincent will set about a few tasks.

First, he will quietly appropriate two chorebots. Both have had googly eyes stuck to them. Surely a clever disguise.

More seriously though, he won't move so far off that it's suspicious to any tracking or watching. One of the chore bots will be instructed to stay hidden and if the Barge or its true representatives shows up, relay a message to the Admiral: ]

This is Vincent Valentine. Boat capsized. We survived. Individual who called himself the Cap'n claimed you sent him to pick us up while you continued repairs on the Barge.

[ He will name the vessel if he can find out before boarding by listening in to another conversation, or talk to a member of the Crew. At most he would take a picture to give to the chorebot and/or instruct it to remember identifying features. ]

Circumstances are highly suspicious. I will bring another robot with me. Hopefully you can use their network to contact or track us. Sorry, I know it's a long shot. But, options limited. I'm also instructing the chorebot in a key for coded messages I'll be able to understand if there are other options to send messages with.

[ Included will an effort to convey what the network ID/ID equivalent of the chorebot he takes with is. If this can't be found he'll ask the stay-behind bot to make note of the ID for the chorebot he takes with.

He will also leave a key in the needle-in-a-haystack chance it is useful to send encoded messages over other 'open broadcast' means. ]

[ ooc: TL;DR. Vincent attempts to hide a chorebot with a message for the Admiral. Message includes:
1. as above
2. Networkd IDs of the two chorebots being used in case they can be jury rigged into walkie talkies somehow.
3. In case that's just not a good option, a key from his past as a Turk to send coded messages through other sources. ]

[about one week after the Narrenschiff leaves port, Vincent's chorebot will beep loudly, spin in a circle several times, and then emit a few ugly blasts of static.

A random string of letters and numbers scroll across its viewscreen, repeating several times. Decoding with his key will reveal...

[A good chunk of Hopper1's time, once it actually GETS to the Barge, is finding a place it can be useful.

The rest of it is finding a place it can safely spend time without being overwhelmed, or causing a surprise transmutation. This battle does not need Malgams!

In all of the chaos, options such as the Greenhouse, the Library, the Engine Room... all get ruled out as people bring the fighting around, to various catastrophic ends.
At least the Engine Room is still intact?

Still, it ends up settling somehow on one of the middle floors - in the Inmate Bathrooms, in fact - and tries to calm down.

Then, mindful of certain discussions it had had this month, it tries reaching out - to the Admiral, the Barge, whoever chooses to respond, if any of them are available during what's probably the height of the fighting.

It taps out, using what it hopes is Morse Code like what B was using:]

Testing. Testing. Can you hear me? Hello? Would like to talk.

[Over and over, perhaps in variations, until or unless someone responds.]
